About Alix

Alix Davis was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was, in large part, her experiences living along the Foothills of Boulder, Colorado throughout her twenties that shaped her and drew her into the beginnings of doula work. She moved back to Ann Arbor to continue her experiential training as a death doula in 2015. After some time, Alix completed her EOL Doula training through The Dying Year (based in Ann Arbor) in 2021 and went on to expand her repertoire and complete her Grief Doula Specialist certification through the International Doula Life Movement in 2022. Alix recently furthered her grief work education through the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death with the ‘Holding Space’ course, designed to assist practitioners in growing their ability to compassionately listen to and work with those experiencing loss and other traumatic events.

During the period of time in which Alix was completing her earlier certifications, she spent three years working at two different nursing homes in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area serving the elderly (and specifically folks living with dementia), specializing in Life Enrichment, and then later working as a Resident Assistant. Alix is currently employed within a management role at a local home care company, and works extensively in this role with those at the end of life.

When working with those who may be experiencing the dying process alone, Alix partners with her doula mentor, End of Life Doula Christina Wall, to offer a comprehensive model of care so as to serve clients in a fuller way.

Alix is currently taking on new clients for evening and weekend appointments only.
Alix is available for consulting opportunities and as a mentor - two slots are currently available.
