Testimonials

“I highly recommend End of Life Doula, Alix Davis, for the care of your loved one. She went well beyond the physical, emotional, and spiritual support for our mother and ourselves. Alix was experienced, compassionate and reliable, allowing our family time to rest and regroup. We are forever grateful for her help. As we did, make Alix a part of your care family… today!”

“At the end of my Mom’s life, she was often lonely and sometimes confused. Our family was able to hire Alix to spend quality time with Mom during this period. Alix has a very calming way about her and she really provided Mom with peace during her visits.  Alix learned about my mother’s likes and dislikes and matched what she did while with Mom, to things that Mom would like. Alix’s presence with our Mom provided us with peace of mind as well. We are forever grateful for the love and concern that Alix brought to my Mom and to our family the last several months of Mom’s life. I highly recommend Alix and her doula services.”

“Alix provided exceptional care for my mother in the final phase of her life. Alix developed a close relationship with my mom and patiently and lovingly read through photo albums and poetry books that were so dear to my mother.  Alix is a patient, caring person with a true calling to serve the elderly.”

“I am very grateful for the many ways Alix has assisted me. I am visually impaired and she has unfailingly helped me in countless activities from reading my mail to me, assisted in every day household chores, driven me to run errands and more. Thanks to Alix I can continue to lead a full, independent life.”

“We first met Alix some years ago when she was a care coordinator in my father's memory care residence. My father had dementia and was in decline and Alix immediately stood out to us.  She was such a deeply caring and empathetic person who forged a close connection with my father with her calm mode of communicating, her focused attention, and her playful sense of humor. She was also extraordinarily supportive of my family when my father died.  We learned then that Alix was also a professional end-of-life doula and I reached out to her a few years later when my mother's health began to fail.

This proved to be the best decision that I made during an extremely challenging period for my mother and my family, as the time we spent with Alix was like a small oasis of coherence and positivity.  Overwhelmed by physical disabilities and depression, my mother was able to communicate to Alix about her frustrations and her anxieties.  Alix was a sensitive interlocutor and listener, and she helped my mother reflect back with pleasure and pride on her life experiences as a visual artist and writer. Alix also assisted with practical logistical matters related to my mother's wellbeing, and she brought me much needed relief by spending such deeply connective quality time with my mother and uplifting her mood.  And she reached out to me, sharing resources and her experiences at each moment of significant change leading up to my mother's death, and during the period of mourning afterwards. I can't speak highly enough about Alix!
